Barrister Profile of William McCarthy William was called to the Bar as a Barrister in 1996 having obtained a First Class Honours Degree in Law and been awarded several prizes including Best Performance on the degree course, the Alan Wharam Prize for the best dissertation and the CCH Company Law Prize. He was also awarded the Everard Ver Heyden Prize for the best performance in Advocacy upon completion of the academic stage of my Barrister training at the Inns of Court School of Law. However, aside from the academic, he is known for taking a down to earth and no-nonsense approach to the advice and representation he provides. If it is appropriate for you to attempt to do 'a deal', as your Barrister, he will tell you so and use his best endeavours to get the best settlement for you. Alternatively, if he thinks you should fight to the end, he will tell you so and (assuming you are in agreement) would endeavour to represent you at the final hearing. Sometimes, 'the merits' of a case are not clear cut and William will advise you fully and openly as to the benefits of one course of action over another. William has have practised as a Barrister in Chambers for around twelve years and has regularly represented individuals and businesses in and out of court.
